Nattawut “Baz” Poonpiriya

Baz graduated with an MFA in stage directing and worked mainly on TV commercial production for three years before moving to New York to study graphic design at the Pratt Institute. He returned to Thailand and worked as a music video director before directing his first feature film, the horror thriller "Countdown", for GTH in 2012. The film won in three categories at the Suphannahong National Film Awards (the biggest film awards in Thailand). His second feature, "Bad Genius", was released in 2017 and was a huge success, both in Thailand and at the international box office.
In 2020 he made his first international movie with Jet Tone Films, "One For The Road", which won the special Jury Award for Creative Vision in the World Cinema Dramatic Competition at the 2021 Sundance Film Festival.
