Synopsis:
Set in Saudi Arabia in the 90s, when artistic expression was banned, NORAH is a powerful story about a new schoolteacher (Nader) and a young woman (Norah), in a small remote village. At great risk, they develop a tender friendship and inspire one another to keep their creativity alive despite the restrictions. Nader, originally an artist, enlightens Norah on the wider world outside of the village. She realizes she must leave her world to find a place where she can be free to express her artistic self.

Tawfik Alzaidi
Tawfik Alzaidi is considered to be a leading and influential member of the new cinema wave in Saudi Arabia. Alzaidi wrote, directed and produced NORAH, his homegrown debut feature film. He began directing his own short films in 2006 and the short film "The Silence" won Gulf Short Film Award in Muscat IFF in 2009.
