Synopsis:

During the Soviet Patriotic War, Xian Xinghai (Hu Jun), a legendary Chinese musician, leading the post production of the documentary Yan'an and the Eighth Route Army in Moscow. During this period, he was displaced by the sudden outbreak of war due to the Nazi German attack, and stranded in Almaty. In the cruel environment of extreme cold and hunger, Xian Xinghai was lucky to be rescued by Kazakh musician Bakhitzhan Baykadamov (Berik Etzhanov). During this period, he created several famous music pieces which the Kazakh people love and admire including symphonies Sacred War, Amangelda, and other classic works, and revised and completed the Yellow River Chorus. With music, he cured the suffering people in the war and encouraged them to fight against fascism.

Xierzati Yahefu graduated from the Beijing Film Academy's Department of Fine Arts with a major in Art Design in July 1985. He is a national first-class director, the Vice Chairman of the Xinjiang Filmmakers Association, a member of the China Filmmakers Association, and currently a director at the Tianshan Film Studio. Xierzati Yahefu has received numerous prestigious awards at both national and international film festivals.
