Synopsis:
In 1942, the Japanese freighter Lisbon Maru, carrying 1,816 British POWs, was torpedoed by a U.S. submarine off China after armed troops were spotted on board. Unaware of the prisoners locked in the holds, many drowned or were shot as the ship sank. Local fishermen from Zhoushan bravely rescued 384 survivors. The harrowing events are depicted through realistic animation and recounted by two English escapees and a retired Chinese fisherman who helped, reflecting on the tragedy and gratitude many years later.
