Jang Cheol-Soo is a South Korean director. He graduated from Hongik University in Seoul, South Korea, majoring in visual design, and his short film Escalator to Heaven received considerable acclaim at numerous festivals.

However, he is best known for his feature debut Bedeviled (2010) which was extremely well received on the festival circuit, including the 2010 Cannes Critics’ Week, and has won several 'Best Director' awards.

His second feature, the action, comedy-drama Secretly Greatly (2013) was a massive box office hit in Korea, attracting record-breaking audiences, and was released in multiple territories across Asia and North America.

More recently he was one of the directors for the TV series SF8 (2020) which tackled the themes of AI, virtuality reality, robots, games and fantasy within a perfect society, and the romantic-drama Serve the People (2022).
