Synopsis:
Adil, a 35-year-old Kyrgyz man with the mental development of an 8-year-old, lives with his 75-year-old mother, Rayhan, in a small village. Rayhan tells Adil that God loves him and he will go to Paradise, but Adil refuses to go without her. When his young friend reveals that taking Rayhan to Mecca for Hajj will ensure her entry to Paradise, Adil embarks on an uplifting journey. The film explores the deep bond between mother and son, highlighting the kindness of diverse cultures and the beauty of their travels through stunning landscapes and rich traditions.

Ruslan Akun (born November 30, 1984) is a Kyrgyz film director, producer, and screenwriter known for his box office hits and award-winning films. His notable works include Salam, New York! (2013), Herding (2014), and Kok boru: Time Persistent (2018). His latest film, Paradise at Mothers’ Feet, has become the most profitable in Kyrgyzstan's history, gaining success in Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, and Russia. Akun studied management at the Center for Economics and Management (2002-2004) before earning a degree in Mass Communications from the American University of Central Asia (2009). He also completed advanced courses in directing and screenwriting before earning his Master's in Film and Television from USC.
