Jacek Laskus
Jacek Laskus is a cinematographer whose work includes feature films, TV films and series, music videos and documentaries.
Born in Warsaw, Poland, Jacek is a graduate of the Polish National Film Academy in Lodz. After arriving in New York, he shot his first feature film, Parting Glances. In Los Angeles he worked with directors such as Donald Petrie Sr., Robert Altman, Michael Pressman, Michael Tolkin, as well as Academy Award-winning directors such as Jonathan Demme and Zbigniew Rybczynski.
Jacek was nominated twice by the ASC for his work on The Caine Mutiny Court-Martial and Garden of Redemption. He was a co-cinematographer on the Academy Award-nominated full-length documentary Colors Straight Up.
Jacek has shot films in locations all over the world including Canada, Portugal, New Zealand, Italy, Lithuania, Japan, Nepal, India, Rwanda, Uganda, Tanzania and Peru. He is also a published stills photographer.
In 2022 Jacek directed and produced a 40 minute short film Picnic and a Little Mutiny about four blind sailors sailing to an offshore island. In addition he is a member of the American Society of Cinematographers (ASC) and the Polish Society of Cinematographers (PSC).
